SHIELD is pleased to announce a new partnership with Stop Hate in Schools to support transparent, consistent reporting of antisemitic incidents and curriculum bias in Georgia K–12 schools. This partnership is designed to help families and communities better understand what is happening in real classrooms by ensuring concerns are documented, visible, and grounded in evidence rather than anecdote.

Over the past several years, families across Georgia have raised concerns about classroom materials, assignments, and incidents that misrepresent Jewish history, erase Jewish identity, or create challenging learning environments for Jewish students. Too often, these experiences remain isolated. Families are unsure where to turn, incidents go undocumented, and patterns across schools and districts are difficult to identify.

Reporting Is About Visibility, Not Escalation

Reporting is not about punishment or confrontation. It is about visibility.

When incidents are documented in a consistent and centralized way, communities gain a clearer understanding of what is happening in real classrooms. Documentation allows families, educators, and community leaders to see patterns, identify gaps in oversight, and engage in informed, constructive conversations grounded in evidence rather than anecdote.

Incident Reporting Tools Are Now Available

Through this partnership, SHIELD has integrated Stop Hate in Schools’ incident reporting tools directly into our website. Families and community members can now submit reports when they encounter antisemitic incidents or concerning instructional content in Georgia schools.

A public list of reported incidents in Georgia is also available, providing greater transparency and statewide awareness.

Families Remain in Control of Their Stories

SHIELD encourages families to report incidents they have experienced or witnessed, with the understanding that reporting does not mean giving up control.

SHIELD does not take over individual cases or dictate next steps. We meet families where they are. Some families want guidance. Some want documentation only. Others simply want their experience recorded so it is not lost or dismissed. All of these choices are respected.

Private Reporting Options Are Available

For families who are not comfortable sharing an incident publicly, reports can be submitted and marked private. Private reports are included in the database for tracking and analysis but are not visible to the public.

Reported Data Contributes to National Tracking

It is also important for families to know that reported data is shared with the Anti Defamation League for inclusion in national antisemitism tracking and reporting. This helps ensure that what families are experiencing locally contributes to a clearer national picture while still respecting individual privacy.

Why This Reporting Infrastructure Matters

Without documentation, concerns are easily dismissed as isolated or subjective. With documentation, communities can better understand scope, frequency, and impact. Visibility leads to accountability. Accountability creates the conditions for meaningful improvement.

Our Mission Remains the Same

SHIELD’s work remains focused on educational integrity. Our goal is to support honest instruction, accurate representation, and learning environments where Jewish students feel safe and respected. This partnership strengthens our ability to do that work responsibly and thoughtfully.

We encourage families to use these tools when concerns arise. Reporting helps ensure experiences are seen, tracked, and understood. It is an important step toward clarity, consistency, and long term improvement in our schools.

Incident reporting tools and the Georgia incident list are now available through our website.
