This week, Congress will hold two important hearings on K–12 education and unions, shining a spotlight on the rise of antisemitism and radical ideology in our schools.

The House Education and Workforce Committee has rightly kept antisemitism in focus since the infamous December 5, 2023, hearing—when the heads of several major universities refused to denounce even genocidal language aimed at Jewish Americans. Now, attention is turning to K–12 education, where too few realize just how deeply the same strain of bias has taken hold.

In this darkness, antisemitism has spread quickly—embedded in classroom lessons, outside resources, and even hallway displays. This week’s hearings are a significant step forward, exposing how radical ideology and antisemitism have infected our K–12 system and the networks that sustain it. From here, we can begin charting a path to fix it.

This week’s hearings are encouraging, but we must remain clear-eyed: congressional activity can be far removed from the grassroots activism that has already taken shape in our schools. The scale of the problem is large and systemic—it must be addressed at the top, and just as importantly, on the ground level where families, educators, and advocates encounter it every day.
